MALACCA: The Malacca state government will implement the Flood Mitigation Plan projects costing more than RM280 million to solve flood woes, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
He said the projects would involve four areas, namely Sungai Duyong with a cost of RM163 million; Bandar Jasin (RM60 million) and Merlimau and Alor Gajah (RM30 million each).
Idris added the state government also allocated RM40 million to upgrade the Duyong Fisheries Hub to develop the sector which could contribute to Malacca's economic growth.
"The projects will be carried out in stages and are expected to be fully completed in five years," he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting here today. — Bernama
