KOTA KINABALU: A local non-governmental organisation here is confident of new Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun's capability to lead the country in countering terrorist and militant threats and cross-border crime particularly in regards to Sabah's situation.
Sabah Suluk Solidarity Council (MPSS) secretary Mohd Zaki Harry Susanto described Mohamad Fuzi as vastly equipped with experience in intelligence works and operations and knowledge of Sabah where he had served as special branch chief for many years.
"His vast experience is an advantage to the state and given his knowledge of Sabah's background, we are confident he would give due priority to the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom).
"We are confident he will find a more effective approach and empower exchange of intelligence information with neighbouring countries for mutual benefit," he said in a statement here today. — Bernama
