Woman, sons seriously injured in Petra Jaya accident

    KUCHING: A woman and her two sons were seriously injured when the Perodua Kancil they were travelling in collided with a Toyota Wish in front of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tun Abang Haji Openg, Petra Jaya here this morning.
    A Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Centre spokesman said the victims had been identified as Maznah Mat Said, 47, who was driving the Kancil and Mohd Haikal Yo, aged 11 years and Azie Yo, aged 13 years.
    He said members of the public managed to get Azie out of the vehicle and send him to hospital while Maznah and Mohd Haikal had to be extricated by a team from Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Station that had rushed there after the centre received a call at 5.56am.
    A team from Sarawak General Hospital that was also at the scene rushed the two victims to hospital, said the spokesman.
    He said the driver of the other car sustained minor injuries while his passenger was unhurt. — Bernama
