Tabung Haji fetes 370 Sahabat Maktab

MAKKAH: A total of 370 Sahabat Maktab (Maktab friends) were feted at a special ceremony organised by the Pilgrims' Fund Board or Tabung Haji (TH) to show appreciation for their service in helping to ensure a smooth haj pilgrimage for the 30,200 Malaysian pilgrims this year.
It was held at the Tabung haji headquarters at Abraj Janadriyah Hotel here Sunday and was attended by the head of the Malaysian haj delegation for 1438 Hijrah, Datuk Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman.
The Sahabat Maktab programme, introduced since 2006, is divided into three categories, namely Sahabat Ibadat TH, Sahabat Medik TH and Sahabat TH.
In his speech, Syed Saleh expressed his appreciation to the Sahabat Maktab for their contributions in helping the 600 TH workers in ensuring smooth operation of the haj pilgrimage by the Malaysian pilgrims, especially during the Masyair Operation. — Bernama
