TED talk a platform to make Perak a hub of ideas

    SERI ISKANDAR: Technology, Entertainment, Design Talk (TED Talk) helps communities to grow in order to make Perak a hub of ideas that is worth spreading to the world, said Universiti Tekonologi Petronas (UTP) Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Assoc Prof Dr Nor Hisham Hamid.
    He said the university played a big role on being the pioneer and continuing to make TED Talk at UTP available every year.
    "A lot of effort goes in to create avenues and opportunities for UTP students to expand their creativity, broaden the imagination and develop their abilities and capabilities.
    "The university strives to create various opportunities to teach and embed positive values, knowledge, life skills, good character and attitude," he said at the TED @ UTP officiating ceremony by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir here, today.
    The program is part of the ongoing week-long Perak Festival of Ideas, which began on Sept 6, held in conjunction with the two-day Pangkor Dialogue 2017 (PD 2017) scheduled for Sept 11-12.
    Sixteen experts from various fields, such as biotechnologists, inventors, technologists and comedians were involved at the one-day event. — Bernama
