Agong graces royal tea reception in conjunction of birthday

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V today graced the royal tea reception held in conjunction with his official birthday at the Istana Negara here.
The reception was attended by 3,500 guests, including Cabinet ministers, foreign dignitaries and this year's recipients of the federal awards, honours and medals.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Chief Justice Tun Md Raus Sharif.
At the reception, Sultan Muhammad V also cut a cake and mingled with the guests while being entertained by Kuala Lumpur City Hall orchestra and singers Jay Jay and Siti Nordiana.
Eighteen cakes of various sizes and themes contributed by several hotels in Klang Valley and Kelantan for His Majesty's birthday were also displayed at the palace. — Bernama
