Cops quiz woman who confronted MPSJ officer with steering lock (Video)

SERDANG: Police have quizzed a woman who was caught on video armed with a steering wheel lock and angrily confronting a Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) officer after her car was clamped for indiscriminate parking.
Serdang police chief ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias said today that police questioned the woman who is in her 40's and also recorded a statement from her husband at 11pm on Saturday.
He said no arrest was made and the woman's husband who is in his 50's had a valid disabled person's identification card.
"We are in the midst of wrapping up the probe and will refer it to the deputy public prosecutor for further action. Give us space to investigate and we hope the media does not sensationalise the case as the couple is under a lot of stress." he told reporters.
Megat Mohamad said the case is being investigated for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
In the incident at 1pm on Wednesday at Bandar Puteri, Puchong, the infuriated woman was seen lambasting the MPSJ officer for clamping her car wheel and was about to tow the vehicle away.
Armed with a baseball bat shaped steering wheel lock, she aggressively confronted the officer and denied she was at fault.
Holding up the lock in her hand, she claimed that she was buying food for a disabled person after parking her car.
Although the car had a "disabled person" sticker on it, the woman did not produce an identification card issued to the handicapped.
The officer who kept his cool throughout the episode was seen in the footage patiently explaining the offence to the woman.
The car was subsequently towed and about two hours later the woman's husband accompanied her to the council's towed car depot where he paid a RM190 fine and took possession of the vehicle.
The man also apologised to MPSJ officers for his wife's outburst.
