Flood victims reduced to 10 as of 5pm

SEREMBAN: The number of flood victims housed at the Surau Tengah Kampung Sungai Machang Hilir temporary relief centre in Lenggeng dropped to 10 people as at 5pm today, compared to 82 at 1pm.
Seremban district Civil Defence Force's (APM) operations officer Lt (PA) Mohd Najib Abd Karim said only 10 flood victims (two families) from Kampung Sungai Machang Hilir were still housed at the relief centre.
He said 72 victims from other affected villages in Lenggeng, namely, Kampung Sungai Jai, Kampung Mendung and Kampung Rawa had been allowed to go home after the floodwaters began to recede as at 8am today.
"The affected houses have all been cleaned by the residents, with the aid of the APM," he told Bernama when met at the relief centre.
Heavy rain for two hours, starting at 4pm yesterday, resulted in flash floods to occur at Kampung Sungai Bioh, Lenggeng. — Bernama
