Borneo fest at KLCC promotes Sabah, Sarawak to tourists
KUALA LUMPUR: The Borneo Fest was held in conjunction with the Malaysia Day 2017 celebration at Suria KLCC, here, today to promote Sabah and Sarawak to local and foreign tourists.
Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd's chief executive officer, Andrew Brien said the festival, held for the first time in collaboration with the Sabah and Sarawak Heritage Association (KL and Selangor) was also part of efforts to educate Malaysians and foreign tourists about the history of Malaysia's formation.
"Therefore, through this programme, we hold a Malaysia Day exhibition and show visitors the culture, food, fashion, crafts and music of Sabah and Sarawak", he said when opening the event.
Sabah and Sarawak Heritage Association chairman, Dr Laurence John was also present.
The one-day festival saw a variety of exciting activities, including a "sape" (Sarawak traditional instrument) musical presentation by Saufi Aiman Yahya, Alena Murang and Anderson Kalang, a Borneo fashion competition and cultural dance performances. — Bernama
