KUALA LUMPUR: The anti-graft commission is going all out for a grand golden jubilee celebration on Oct 1 with the opening of its new "iconic" headquarters in Putrajaya and an array of events ahead of it.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad said he and all the high ranking officers will go on a nationwide convoy from Sept 17 to create awareness and thank the people for supporting the fight against corruption.
There will be a carnival at Dataran DBKL on Sept 17 followed by the nationwide convoy with superbikes as part of the campaign in conjunction with the 50th anniversary.
He also said the convoy is scheduled to stop at Menara Kuala Lumpur on Sept 30 to witness a jump event by a team of international sky divers who will jump off the tower with the MACC flag.
Dzulkifli also said MACC will organise a theatrical play featuring local artists at the Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka from Oct 18 to Oct 21.
As part of the anti-graft campaign, MACC and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad today launched a first-ever collaboration to campaign against corruption in public transportation by giving a new look to two of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) coaches on the Kelana Jaya Line.
Dzulkifli said the coaches, which have been painted with the theme "Jerung Atau Bilis, Dalam Jaring Kami" (Big or Small We Will Catch You), will constantly remind the public to say "no to bribery".
"For the first time in history, MACC has chosen the LRT to spread its anti-graft message.
"Our message is clearly visible on the inside and outside of the coaches," he said.
Noting that with a daily ridership of 250,000 along the Kelana Jaya line, Dzulkili said the message would be read by over five million passengers in a month.

"We want the people to say no bribery and no abuse of power. Don't give, don't 'kaw tim' and don't 'settle'!

"We are here fighting corruption, and people should boldly say no. Don't worry and don't be afraid. MACC is here for you," he stressed.
The new-faced LRT coaches were jointly launched by Dzulkifli and Prasarana president Datuk Azmi Abdul Aziz at the Bank Rakyat Bangsar LRT station today.
