Managers, driver held in MACC forestry bribery probe

KUALA TERENGGANU: Three logging company managers and a sawmill driver were remanded for five days, beginning today to facilitate Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigations into three bribery cases.
Kuala Terengganu Court senior assistant registrar Noradila Ab. Latif issued the remand order here today.
The suspects, aged between 29 to 62, were alleged to have offered bribes of between RM500 and RM1,000 to three officers of the Terengganu Forestry Department in three separate incidents between May 23 and Aug 28.
The suspects were remanded under Section 17 (b) of the MACC Act 2009. — Bernama
