All-new 3008 SUV launched

    NASIM Sdn Bhd, the official distributor and custodian for the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, has launched the all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV.
    Two variants are available – Active, which goes for RM142,888 and the top-of-the-range Allure at RM155,888. Prices are on-the-road, without insurance and inclusive of GST. We featured it in Gear Up! after a media test drive in Bologna, Italy, last Oct-Nov.
    “First unveiled in Europe in 2016, the 3008 SUV is built on its strengths with elegant, contemporary style and intuitive technology to create a brand new driving experience.
    “As the most innovatively modern SUV in its class, the all-new 3008 SUV is the new milestone in its segment of the market. Built on the principles of design, advanced technology and function, it is adorned with a powerful and refined style that provides convenient versatility that is unrivalled in its segment. We are looking at a sales volume of 1,800 units this year and this new SUV has a target of 400 units which contributes 22% to our overall target,” said Datuk Samson Anand George, group CEO, automotive group, Naza Corporation Holdings Sdn Bhd.
    “The all-new 3008 SUV will be pivotal in boosting Nasim’s sales target of 1,800 units in 2017. It will be targeted to discerning customers between the ages of 30 and 45, especially those who are expecting differentiation in a vehicle with superior design, premium features and uncompromising safety standards,” he added.
    “The 3008 SUV’s dimensions at 4,447 mm long and 1,841mm wide is adorned with a powerful and refined style complemented by the Advanced Full LED Technology with sequential Scrolling Indicator and a new signature 3D rear claw taillight. Adopting the latest stylistic codes of the marque, the all-new 3008 SUV affirms its characteristics with high quality and elegant styling, strength, comfort and driving sensations with the ability to adapt.
    “The character of the front face has been redesigned by incorporating a stylish new chequered wide grille with chrome plated trims and fog lamps emerging from the bodywork. The dynamic headlights with Advanced Full LED are surrounded by chrome, which makes for a more tranquil drive with automatic height adjustment.
    “The passenger compartment interior proves to be a new source of surprise and attraction. The passenger compartment of the new 3008 SUV is unique. Featuring its revolutionary latest generation Peugeot i-Cockpit, the dashboard is beautifully designed with clever use of fabric on the dashboard and door panels giving them a modern chic feeling and appearance. The clever i-Cockpit dashboard features a compact steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital head-up display screen that displays speedometer, odometer, trip-computer, and other various displays. This all-digital display is at head height, slightly facing the driver and provides easy visibility. The next generation Peugeot i-Cockpit interior serves as the SUV’s best utility feature in its segment. The 12.3-inch digital head-up display’s different modes are operated using the control wheel located on the left of the steering wheel.
    “Because of its style, spaciousness and its revolutionary Peugeot i-Cockpit, the all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV was awarded the ‘European Car of the Year 2017’ at the Geneva Motor Show 2017.     “Beyond the considerable developments in its occupant protection, the all-new 3008 SUV comes with a wide-ranging set of technological equipment for improved safety. The Peugeot Park Assist comes with front and rear parking assist sensors allowing for effortless parking assesses while the reverse camera, with 180-degree function, automatically activates when reverse gear is engaged and allows the driver to view the area behind the vehicle while the manoeuvre is taking place ensuring better visibility from blind spots.
    “These features are in addition to the six safety airbags, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Safety Program (ESP), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) to improve handling in difficult driving conditions. It also features Advanced Grip Control and the Hill Assist Descent Control (HADC) which provides security for drivers when descending on steep slopes by reducing the risk of the vehicle slipping or losing control when travelling downhill in both forward or reverse gears. Both these features and the 180-degree reverse camera are the first in its class for SUV. As a result, it achieved a full five-star rating from Euro NCAP.

The ergonomic high-seating position especially gives a feeling of safety and security by increasing the visibility of the open road.
    “The spacious 590-litre boot size can be further enlarged with the split folding rear seats with ‘Magic Flat’ functionality. With the rear seats folded, the total storage volume is increased to 1,670 litres of flat fold space. The all-new 3008 SUV rides on 18-inch Los Angeles Shiny Haria Grey alloy rims.
    “Under the hood, the 3008 SUV comes equipped with a 1.6 THP with Variable Valve Timing that produces 164.7hp and 240Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in its segment. The 3008 SUV is fitted with a six-speed automatic gear control with Tiptronic and sport mode functionality giving the driver an exhilarating drive. It also has a fuel efficiency of seven litres per 100km and has a top speed of 211km/h, making it one of the best in its class.
    “The front suspension features Independent MacPherson struts coil springs and integrated with pressurised hydraulic shock absorbers whereas the rear suspension is outfitted with semi-independent wheels with twist beam axle and pressurised shock absorbers. This directly benefits the precise handling and comfort levels. Whether cornering or in a straight line, accelerating or braking, the all-new 3008 SUV remains composed.
