Senior citizen crashes car into petrol station

JOHOR BARU: A senior citizen here created a stir when he lost control of his car and crashed into the convenience store of a petrol station in Bandar Baru Uda around 5.30pm on Tuesday.
Johor Baru North OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohd Taib Ahmad, said the 71–year–old old man had finished refueling, and was attempting to leave. The initial investigation showed that the driver lost control of the car as he tried to avoid a motorcycle and crashed into the station.
Mohd Taib, said the old man may have wrongly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes in the accident.
"No one was injured in the incident," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous and reckless driving.
