Zahid flies in to Sibu for overnight visit

SIBU: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi flew in here late evening today for an overnight visit to the Sibu Division of Sarawak.
Ahmad Zahid, who arrived with Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid at the Sibu airport at about 6.30pm, was greeted by Sarawak Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian and Sarawak International Trade and E-Commerce Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh.
Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan arrived here on a special flight from Kuching at 6.50pm.
All of them then went to a hotel here for dinner, after which Ahmad Zahid chaired a coordination meeting on the reconstruction of dilapidated schools in Sarawak.
Ahmad Zahid is scheduled to visit Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Rosli Dhoby, at 8.45am tomorrow; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Durin, at 10am; Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Salim, at 11am, and Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Banyok, at noon.
Ahmad Zahid will hold a press conference at the Sibu airport at 1pm before returning to Kuala Lumpur. — Bernama
