SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state government through Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor) is targeting 15,000 visitors to the four-day Selangor International Expo (SIE) 2017 starting today at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) here.
Chairman of the Selangor Permanent Committee on Investment, Industrialisation and Trade, Small and Medium-Scale Industries and Transport Datuk Teng Chang Khim said the state government was optimistic the target would be achieved after a recent trade exhibition received encouraging response from local and foreign investors.
"For the record, the SIE in 2016 had attracted about 10,000 visitors as compared to 8,000 the previous year and SIE 2016 also achieved a transaction volume of RM112 million, as compared to RM50 million in 2015."
He said this in his speech at the opening of the annual trade exhibition at the SCCC here by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Also present was the chief executive officer of Invest Selangor Datuk Hassan Azhari Idris. — Bernama
