Dawos pledges RM200,000 for Kuching Biperoh Association cultural centre

KUCHING: Deputy Minister for Energy, Green Technology and Water Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos Mamit last night pledged RM200,000 for the second phase of the Kuching Biperoh Association (KBA) cultural centre.
The centre located at Kampung Garung, along Borneo Heights Road, about 40km from Kuching, when fully completed would have a multi-purpose hall, a baruk (ceremonial house) and a-nine door longhouse depicting nine villages from the Bidayuh Biperoh community.
Dowos, who is the Member of Parliament for Puncak Borneo, made the pledge when officiating the association's multi-purpose hall last night.
The multi-purpose hall which is phase one of the cultural centre was built at a cost of RM180,000.
He also pledged another RM5,000 grant for the association's activities. — Bernama
