KUALA LUMPUR: One of Kuala Lumpur's famous food havens in Pudu was destroyed this morning in a fire.
Better known among regulars as Pudu Wai Sek Kai, the stalls went up in flames at around 2am and burnt to the ground in an hour.
The food stalls which lie on the crossroads of Jalan Pudu and Jalan Sayur, saw teams of firemen try to put out the fire.
Teams from Hang Tuah, Keramat, KLCC, Sri Hartamas, Pudu and Keramat stations responded to the call within four minutes.
Fire and Rescue Department operational commander Supt Mohd Yunus Ibrahim was reported saying that the fire was eventually put out at 3.13am and ten stalls were razed.
He also said that it was hard to put out the blaze because of the low water pressure in the area.
