Battling the thief of life with Nestle Omega Plus (Video)

HEART disease is a silent killer, striking anyone regardless race, gender, age or weight. Malaysians, those with a passion for food and lackadaisical lifestyles, are at high risk of suffering from high cholesterol. A brand committed in its "fight against high cholesterol" is Nestle Omega Plus.
Prevention before cure
A 2015 survey conducted by the Ministry of Health revealed that one in every two Malaysians suffer from high cholesterol. That equates to half of Malaysians under the age of 40, suffering from high cholesterol, which lead to heart disease – one of the major causes of fatality among Malaysians. Still, many Malaysians hold on to belief that it will not happen to them.
Seeing the urgent need to address this common yet foolish misconception, Nestle Omega Plus officially formalised its partnership with Institut Jantung Negara's (IJN) non-profit arm, IJN Foundation.
Unite, support and stand strong
Omega Plus has previously collaborated with IJN Foundation. Its alliance goes back to 2015 when Omega Plus supported IJN's Wellness Centre patients by providing customised meal plans and check-out kits upon discharge. In 2016, Nestle Omega Plus donated close to RM50,000 to IJN Foundation, to aid its Patient Assistance Programme, which provides financial assistance for surgery and treatment for needy heart patients at IJN.
"By partnering with the IJN Foundation, we aim to prompt and incite more Malaysians to act now and take better care of their hearts. This is in line with Nestle's purpose of enhancing the quality of life and contributing to a healthier future," said Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad business executive officer of milks Ng Su Yen.
Work that heart
With this year's collaboration driving a movement towards better heart health through a series of events since August, join Nestle Omega Plus' series of walking events called "Walk-a-Sunday", next scheduled on Sept 17 at TTDI Park, Kuala Lumpur from 7am till 11am and 4pm till 7pm or at Bukit Dumbar Park in Penang from 7am till 11am.
IJN Foundation supports the cause and creed by providing free cholesterol checks during the event. Participants will also be able to taste the goodness of Nestle Omega Plus via free samplings and purchase packs of their sold at a special rate at the events. No pre-registration is required to join the walk. However, the first 300 participants will receive "goodie bags".
