KUALA LUMPUR: The four-car monorail trains suspended since last May, will resume operations in stages at the end of this year.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd chief executive officer, Datuk Zohari Sulaiman said the trains had been suspended to enhance safety features.
"We are working hard to ensure that this process can be resolved as soon as possible by complying with all rules and guidelines. We had no choice but to temporarily suspend the four-car train services in the interest of public safety," he said in a statement today.
He said as the Kuala Lumpur Monorail route operator, they wanted to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the absence of the four-car trains.
According to Zohari, it has been providing intermediary bus services along the Monorail route to complete the monorail operation during the absence of the four-car trains.
"We now have six sets of two-car trains which operate with a frequency of between eight and 15 minutes, depending on the operating time and availability of trains," he said. — Bernama
