PNB eyes 6,000 new unit trust sign-ups at Investment Fiesta event

    KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) is vying to attract some 5,000 to 6,000 new unit trust sign-ups through its upcoming annual “Fiesta Labur PNB” event.
    As at Aug 31, total units in circulation for Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) unit trust stood at 216.64 billion, with some 13.13 million account holders.
    “Through this fiesta, ASNB wishes to educate the public on the advantages of investing and to share basic fundamentals of investment such as the Power of Compounding and Rule 72, so that investors understand that investment is not complicated,” said ASNB CEO Mohammad Hussin at a media briefing session held in conjunction with the event.
    The fiesta, which will be hosted by PNB’s wholly owned subsidiary ASNB, will feature a range of activities, including financial literacy programmes such as “Master Your Personal Finance Workshop” and Kuiz Pelaburan PNB.
    “The ASNB Services and Financial Planning Counter is also open to facilitate visitors interfacing and transacting with ASNB. Visitors are encouraged to update personal information and register for the myASNB portal at the fiesta,” he added.
    The second edition of the fiesta will be held from Sept 28 to Sept 30 between 9am and 9pm and from 9am to 1pm on Oct 1 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
    Some 50 booths, including that of ASNB agents and government agencies, uniform bodies and small-to-medium businesses, will be erected at the four-day event. Organisers hope to attract 15,000 visitors to the event.
    Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM), Amanah Saham Bumiputra 2 (ASB 2), and Amanah Saham Gemilang (ASG) are among the unit trust funds managed by ASNB.
