PETALING JAYA: Vida Beauty CEO Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, or more fondly known as Datuk Seri Vida, has spent more than RM1 million on her second music video, in which she bathes in a tub filled with cash and jewellery.

The millionaire said she forked out RM180,000 for the video's production cost and close to RM100,000 on equipment to be used in the shoot.

Her most expensive splurge was an RM400,000 butterfly ring which she said was essential for her music video.

"I wanted a butterfly concept, that ring was ordered, later if anyone is interested, I will auction as that is not a normal ring," she was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.

The music video featuring her hit single I Am Me will be directed by local director Ghaz Abu Bakar, who was behind the success of local box office hits such as Hantu Kapcai, Cicak-man 3 and Polis Evo.

On criticism over screenshots of the luxurious bath, Datuk Seri Vida said she was not showing off but attempted to reach global standards of pop star Taylor Swift.

"It can be said that almost 90% of netizens criticise me as they do not understand the concept I wish to highlight. Each time I do something, there must be a target. For the video clip, I want it to achieve international standards like the singer Taylor Swift.

"Actually I have planned to do such a video clip since two months ago when the song I Am Me was launched, unexpectedly the concept that I thought of has been used by Taylor Swift first. If she bathes in diamonds, I will bathe in money. I don't know if she was criticised like me," she told Utusan Malaysia.
