Landslide threatens longhouse in Marudi

MIRI: Thirty residents of the Rumah Damu longhouse in Marudi are living in fear following a landslide in the area yesterday.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee Secretariat from the Civil Defence Force, Major Ismail Mahedin said the landslide occurred at a hill behind the five-door longhouse in Sungai Muam, Marudi.
"The landslide caused slight damage to a door at the end of the longhouse," he said in a statement today.
However, he said no one was injured or evacuated in the incident. — Bernama
