THE all new UberEATS kicks off in selected parts of Kuala Lumpur on Sept 21 at 9am.
This smartphone app (available for iOS and Android) will help Malaysians order their food from selected restaurants which will then be delivered to their doorsteps within 35 minutes.
Payment can be done via credit or debit card. There is no minimum order, however a RM5 delivery fee will be charged.
Additionally UberEATS Malaysia is working closely with Jakim to ensure delivery methods address halal concerns.
During the press conference to announce the launch, Shri Chakravarthy Gopalakrishnan, general manager, Malaysia & Singapore, UberEATS showed the media the two different delivery bags that are used to deliver halal and non-halal food.
There are currently 200 restaurant partners available.
UberEATS will begin serving Kuala Lumpur's central business district, Bangsar and Damansara Heights from 9am to midnight, seven days a week, with plans to expand in the near future.
Just download the app from Google Play or the App Store, or head to ubereats.com. Tell them where to deliver, browse the local restaurant list, pay and then track your order.
"At Uber we are looking for ways to bring Malaysians more choices," said Shri.
"This time, we are bringing consumers, restaurant-partners, and delivery-partners together in a digital marketplace celebrating Malaysia's great cuisine and love for food.
"Using the power of Uber's technology, we are going to help Malaysians enjoy the food we want, right now - all at the touch of a button."
UberEATS is also offering job opportunities for Malaysians who would like to earn additional revenue, and also provide restaurant owners the tools to improve their business, with analytics and insights to make better data-driven decisions.
