Johor police bust 54 gambling dens, seize 1,010 gambling machines

JOHOR BARU: Johor police crippled 54 gambling premises and confiscated 1,010 gaming machines in a major operation from Sept 10 to 20 throughout the state.
State CID chief ACP Azman Ayob said the operation also saw 282 people held and seized RM20,819 cash.
Azman said the operation was conducted to eradicate illegal gambling activities in the state.
"Johor police view such activities by syndicates seriously as they are a major social ill. The operation will continue until police are satisfied that such activities had been completely wiped out," he said in a statement here today. — Bernama
