MALAYSIA SWEEP SIX OF SEVEN GOLD MEDALS OFFERED IN ROAD RACE TODAY

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian para cyclists underlined their dominance in road race events by sweeping six of the seven gold medals offered on the second day of the 9th Asean Para Games road race cycling events held in Putrajaya, here today.
The six won today saw Malaysia’s total gold medal tally in the road race events increase to 10 from the 14 offered throughout the two days of competition.
The gold medal contributors today were Mohd Najib Turano from the men’s (C4), Zuhairie Ahmad Tarmizi (C5), Lim Tao Keong (H1-H5), Mohamad Syazwan Roshdi (C1, C2, C3), Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais from the women’s (B) and Aiman Asyraff Ahmad Bajuri, men’s (B).
Cycling as a whole has won 22 of the 26 gold medals offered in the APG for track cycling and road race.
The track cycling squad had made a clean sweep of all 12 gold medals offered. — Bernama
