KUALA LUMPUR: A 13-year-old teenager was among 84 suspected drug addicts nabbed by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) in 'Op Perdana' and 'Op Bah' conducted around Kuala Lumpur, here last night.
AADK deputy director-general Datuk Izhar Abu Talib said the ops were conducted for two days from Sept 20 and involved the areas with high risk of drug abuse as well as entertainment and gambling centres in Dang Wangi, Cheras, Brickfield and Sentul.
"Most of them are suspected to be positive on opiate, heroine, cannabis, syabu and methamphetamine drugs," he told reporters after the operation ended at about 2 am.
Izhar said the operation, which involved 381 AADK personnel and other parties including the People's Volunteer Corps, the non-governmental organisations and the Federal Territories Ministry, was conducted to bring the drug addicts for further treatment. — Bernama
