19 flood relief centres in Perlis in operation, five closed

KANGAR: Nineteen flood relief centres in Perlis which housed 1,504 people from 419 families are still in operations while five other centres were closed, as at 1.15pm.
The five centres were SMK Datuk Jaafar Hassan, Batu Bertangkup, Titi Tinggi Hilir Community Hall and the Banggol Sena Mosque, all of which are in Padang Besar, as well as one in Arau, namely SRJK(C) Hwa Aik Pauh.
Perlis Women, Family and Community Development, Welfare and Unity Committee chairman Rela Ahmad said the 1,504 evacuees being sheltered at the centres included 456 children and 34 infants. — Bernama
