PETALING JAYA: PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli today said the bankruptcy notice served on him over the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) defamation suit was a personal attack against him.
The Pandan MP said NFC executive chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail could have just handed the notice to him by hand instead of advertising it in the papers.
Rafizi was served a bankruptcy notice over his failure to settle RM306,999.17 in damages and costs related to the NFC suit.
The notice, which appeared in a local Malay daily, was obtained against Rafizi at the Shah Alam court.
Dated July 13 and effected by an order dated Sept 12, the notice stated that Rafizi could file an objection against the proceedings within seven days from the receipt of the notice.
Rafizi said the notice had implied that he was not honest in handling the RM1.5 million donation by the public which was meant to make the payment.
