Tengku Abdullah graces wedding reception of Temerloh Umno chief's son

TEMERLOH: The Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah attended the wedding reception of the eldest son of Temerloh Umno division chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin at Dewan Tun Abdul Razak, here, today.
Tengku Abdullah, accompanied by Tengku Muda Pahang Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah, dined with the bridal couple, Dr Ahmad Fawwaz Mohd Sharkar and Dr Laila Che Razali.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, who was unable to attend the event, congratulated the newlyweds via video recording.
"I'm sorry I could not attend the ceremony but on this occasion I would like to congratulate the newlyweds, wishing them eternal happiness and I pray both the bride and groom get a life blessed by Allah," he said.
Special guests at the wedding reception were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Also present were Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Umno executive secretary Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh and Pahang state government leaders.
Dr Ahmad Fawwaz and Dr Laila solemnised their marriage on Sept 16 in the federal capital.
Meanwhile, Mohd Sharkar, who is also an Umno Supreme Council member, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to all the guests who attended the event.
"I am also touched by the prime minister's gesture to congratulate the couple even though he was unable to be with us today," he said. — Bernama
