PUTRAJAYA: Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor will chair a special meeting with local authorities under his ministry to discuss social problems involving the younger generation, especially those in Kuala Lumpur.
He said the meeting on Monday, would identify the source of the issues and draft a solution to curb the long-standing problem at the soonest possible time.
"Based on surveillance by the ministry's Anti-Illegal Activities Unit (BAH), social problems occurred at almost all 11 areas in Kuala Lumpur and it is quite embarrassing to mention this.
"The worst of all is Kampung Segambut Dalam (in Segambut) where the surveillance revealed there have been residents who turned their houses into shops and rented out to foreigners. The saddest part is that some of them were arrested for selling methamphetamine," he told reporters after officiating the Grazrootz Skatefest Festival at Anjung Floria in Presint 4 here today.
The event, organised by the Skateboarding Development of Malaysia, created a history after it made into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the largest gathering of skateboarders .
Meanwhile, Tengku Adnan, who is also Umno secretary-general, said the party had not received any report on an allegation which went viral on social media over the misappropriation of skills development fund involving an Umno member in Bagan Datuk. — Bernama
