IPOH: The plan by Perak DAP to hold 100 ceramahs in Chinese new villages will not affect the support base of Barisan Nasional (BN), said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir.
In saying this, he described the suggestion by state DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming as a "temporary measure" since the rakyat will always reject the politics of hatred practiced by the party.
"It is a daily affair of hatred ... they (hate) me, they hate BN ... ignore them, we are in the field to help the rakyat as it is our responsibility," he said.
Zambry who is also Perak BN chairman, was speaking at the closing ceremony of a meet the rakyat programme with Gopeng Umno division chief, Senator Datuk Hamzah Mohd Kasim for the Batu Gajah zone under the Gopeng parliamentary constituency here on Sunday.
"The opposition elected representatives are uncomfortable with BN's permukiman programmes, as they failed to serve the rakyat.
"They belittle such events and accuse the BN representatives of making an appearance because of the coming general election," he said.
Zambry noted the programme had received wide publicity in the media including on social media, due to its effectiveness in solving problems.
