Jellyfish warning at Phi Phi Island

KRABI: Visitors to the Monkey Beach on the Phi Phi island in Krabi province, Thailand are warned of the unprecedentedly huge presence of poisonous sea nettle jellyfish, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
The warning came along with visitors' photos showing a large amount of sea nettle jellyfish off the Monkey Beach in the Hat Nopparat Thara-Koh Phi Phi National Park.
Tour operators and visitors, in general, have been warned of the widespread presence of the poisonous jellyfish.
Tour guide operators on the Phi Phi island said a large amount of sea nettle jellyfish gathered there in the past few days especially after heavy rain.
Visitors are reluctant to swim there as the jellyfish are poisonous. They also said that the number of sea nettle jellyfish along the Monkey Beach was huge this year. — Bernama
