‘Seven Tea One-der’

SUNWAY Putra Hotel recently organised a closed-door event, inviting its corporate clients and selected media personnel. The essence of the endeavour was basically to aid Seven Tea One, a social enterprise the hotel supports, under its CSR banner.

Fundamentally, the event aimed to:
1. Create awareness on the social enterprise Seven Tea One;
2. Canvass and drive the project which helps raise funds via the hotel’s Atrium Lounge; and
3. Inform the rakyat how they can be part of this programme in aid of the “differently-abled” and marginalised.

Founder of Seven Tea One Majidah Hashim shared the reason behind the establishment of the social enterprise. She said it was set up “with the aim to employ the autistic and marginalised, so as to provide these individuals with an avenue to earn an income in a non-discriminative work environment”.

Seven Tea One is known for its handcrafted infusion teas made from local ingredients of herbs, flowers and spices sourced from small-scale, urban, family-run farms and community gardens around Klang Valley. These teas are purchased by Sunway Putra Hotel and creatively concocted as signature drinks, available at the hotel’s Atrium Lounge.

Sunway Putra Hotel general manager Michael Monks was amazed on discovering the milestones and achievements, of both the founder and her “cause”.

“We at Sunway Putra Hotel are always looking forward to collaborate with organisations like Seven Tea One as part of our initiative to give back to society,” Monks said.
