KUALA LUMPUR: Police will initiate an investigation into a case of a man who allegedly obstructed and threatened council enforcement personnel and bystanders over a clamped car in Cheras here today.
A video of the incident has gone viral in social media. In the four-minute minute video, the drama unfolded with the man clad in a striped shirt accompanied by two women shouting at two uniformed council personnel.
The officers had clamped his car for parking illegally outside the Cheras Leisure Mall.
The man started shoving and pushing the personnel, while one of the women tried to separate the enraged man from the officers.
The man then puffed his chest up, challenged the officers to take off their uniforms and challenged them to a fight.
The video then showed his vehicle, a silver car which appeared to have been clamped but the car was soon freed by another officer.
Another woman was also seen entering the scene to try and calm him.
Moments later, the enraged man entered his car and produced what appeared to be a wooden stick before squaring up with one of the council officers.
Few passersby were also seen stepped in and found themselves being yelled by the enraged man.
Both the women tried to calm the situation and managed to pull the man who later entered the car and drove off with them.
The man was heard saying "Alright you just wait" while he drove off.
The video of the incident has gone viral, with more than 30,000 views and had been shared almost 300 times by the social media users.
Cheras district police chief ACP Chong Kok Sin when contacted said police are in the midst of recording a statement from a complainant involved in the incident.
Earlier this month, a video of a woman, wielding a steering lock while screaming at Subang Jaya Municipal Council officers for clamping her car, was circulated widely on social media.
In that incident, the woman had claimed that she had only parked the car illegally for a short while as she had wanted to buy food for her disabled husband.
