PETALING JAYA: Sisters in Islam (SIS) is disappointed by the recent implementation of a "Muslims Only" policy adopted by a self-service launderette in Muar, Johor.
The group said the policy will further segregate and isolate the Malaysian multi-racial and multi-religious communities from each other.
"As Malaysians, we need to be guided by our Constitution which prohibits discrimination based on faith, among others.
"This will surely be seen by non-Muslims as a form of discrimination against them," SIS said in a statement today.
Recently, a case of a self-service laundry that specified that they catered only to Muslim customers has been circulating around in social media.
The post also depicted the laundry displaying signs that it only allowed Muslim customers to use the machines.
The posting has gained mixed reactions from social media users.
