Police form special commitee to eradicate illegal gambling

KUALA LUMPUR: As part of newly installed Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Fuzi Harun's mandate to once-and-for -all eradicate illegal gambling in the country, Police have formed a special committee to carry out the initiative.
Deputy IGP Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim announced the committee at Bukit Aman here yesterday which will be made up of all state police chiefs and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chiefs will be in the committee.
"We want to seriously clamp down on illegal gambling, and this special committee will help in dealing with this effectively," he said.
Noor Rashid, who will be heading this committee, said that he has three plans of action, one is to identify these gambling dens, the second is to identify those directly involved and also to take stern action against them.
