PUTRAJAYA: A 54-year-old former bank officer was the latest person to be held by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today over a probe on a land deal between the Great Alonioners Trading Corporation Bhd (Gatco) and a group of settlers.
The individual, who is now a businessman, was taken to the Putrajaya magistrate's court where he was remanded for five days.
The remand order on two siblings who were arrested on Monday by the MACC and who are top officials of a family-run group of companies was also extended by four days, earlier at the same courthouse.
The brothers, both who hold Datuk titles and are aged 54 and 58 were picked up by MACC officers in separate operations at undisclosed locations in the Klang Valley.
The brothers are chief executive officers of two companies.
The latest arrest brings the total number of those held over the case to four.
On Sept 18, the MACC made its first arrest three weeks after it began the probe on Gatco when a 68-year-old man who works as a liquidator and is believed to have detailed knowledge of the land deal was held.
