KUALA LUMPUR: Some 25,000 motorists will benefit from the opening of the Tun Razak Link (TRL) of the Duta - Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke) Phase 2 said Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
The Works Minister said the 9km linkway which starts from Jalan Tun Razak near Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) and National Heart Institute (IJN) is expected to solve and ease traffic congestion in the vicinity of the Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Pahang roundabout and Jalan Duta interchange.

"TRL will not only help with traffic dispersion, it is will provide connectivity to new areas via existing highways. Areas around northern Kuala Lumpur like Gombak, Jalan Genting Klang and Bandar Baru Sentul will gain benefits from the access and connectivity provided from this TRL Duke Phase 2.

"At the same time, TRL also acts as an additional dispersal link between Duke and Middle Ring Road 1 (MRR1) that is an additional dispersal option for the congested Jalan Tun Razak," he said during the launch of TRL at Sentul Tambahan toll plaza yesterday.

With the starting point being from HKL and IJN, TRL will traverses northwards along Jalan Pahang and Jalan 9/48A to connect to Jalan Gombak after crossing existing Duke at Sentul Pasar interchange

Fadillah said the other link, Sri Damansara Link (SDL), which is also under Duke Phase 2 project is expected to be ready by end of the year as it is currently in its final stage of completion.

The phase 2 of the Duke project is managed by Konsortium Lebuhraya Utara-Timur (KL) Sdn Bhd (KESTURI) in collaboration with Ekovest Bhd and Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
