GEORGE TOWN: The Sessions Court today has set Dec 6 for mention in the case of four teenagers who were charged with causing grievous injuries to T. Previin, 19 using a dangerous weapon.
Sessions Court Judge Irwan Suainbon fixed the date after the court was informed that the medical report has yet to be completed.
J. Ragesuthan,18, S. Gokulan,18 and the two other underage boys, aged 16 and 17, were charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means to Previin.
They were alleged to have committed the offence near the Karpal Singh Learning Centre in Bukit Gelugor here between 11pm to 12.30am on July 9.
If convicted, they are liable to face a maximum 20-year prison term and be liable to a fine, or whipping.
All of the accused were not present when the case was brought up for mention.
The boys are currently in detention at the Sungai Petani Juvenile Prison.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Farah Aimy Zainul Anwar prosecuted the case.
Counsel for Ragesuthan and Gokulan, Datuk Ranjit Singh Dillon requested for the mention of his clients and the other two accused to be fixed on the same date with the mention date for the murder charge which all of them are facing for the murder of T. Nhaveen, 18 at the same time and place.
Yesterday, the Magistrate's Court postponed the case to Dec 6 for case management.
The case has garnered widespread attention after Nhaveen was brutally attacked and succumbed to his injuries a week later.
