Intruder causes temporary shutdown of Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line

    PETALING JAYA: An intruder has caused the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line to partially shutdown its services after the man ran onto the train tracks during peak hour on Thursday evening.
    The incident that happened near the Kwasa Damansara station had caused the line to shutdown its service for about an hour.
    "There was an intrusion @MRT SBK alignment near Kwasa D'sara and power had to be temporarily shut down for safety and to apprehend (the) intruder," RapidKL said in a tweet.
    RapidKL also tweeted that police had taken quick action and were investigating the incident.
    "Swift action by our operation colleagues and auxiliary police apprehended the intruder. Investigation is ongoing. Sorry for the inconvenience caused," it said.
    The company also noted that its operation team had checked and cleared the track for safety.
    "Intruder apprehended by security. Train service resuming. Thank you," it tweeted at 6.30pm.
    The series of tweets also shows three auxiliary police officers apprehending the man.
    RapidKL said the entire line had resumed operations at 7.30pm.
    "We are sending more trains to ease the crowd. Train service for the entire line resuming. We thank you for your patience," RapidKL tweeted.
    A spokesman from Prasarana said the company is investigating how the intruder managed to enter the track area and his motive for doing so.
    He added Prasarana will update the media over the incident and reminded the public to stay clear from entering restricted areas, as it would disrupt the train service, as well as the travel of many other commuters.
