Family of four killed in car-lorry collision near Gua Musang

GUA MUSANG: A family of four were killed on the spot when the car they were travelling in collided with a rice-laden lorry at the 52km Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai here today.
The deceased were identified as car driver Zainuddin Anuar, 30, wife, Raizuamira Daud, 31, their 13-day-old son Zayyan Nazreel Zainuddin and a daughter whose identity has not been ascertained.
The lorry driver escaped unhurt.
Gua Musang police deputy chief, DSP Abdullah Daud said initial investigations revealed the Gua Musang-bound lorry from Kuala Krai skidded and veered into the path of the family's Proton Wira in the 8am crash.
He said the impact of the crash left the car badly-mangled, adding that firemen spent about an hour to extricate three of the bodies.
Abdullah said the bodies of the victims, who were from Parit 8 Timur, Sungai Besar in Selangor were sent to the Gua Musang Hospital here. — Bernama
