Police bust two motorcycle theft gangs with arrest of three suspects

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police busted two motorcycle theft gangs with the arrest of three men, including a teenager, in raids in the Seberang Prai Centre district here yesterday.
Seberang Prai Centre district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said two of the suspects, aged 21 and 32, were picked up at a house in Jalan Permatang , while the teenager was arrested detained at Pangsapuri Ampang Jajar in Permatang Pauh.
Police also seized four motorcycles, as well as various parts and frames during the raids, he said here today.
Nik Ros Azhan said all the suspects were in remand for four days to facilitate investigation under Section 379A(1) of the Penal Code.
In GEORGE TOWN, police detained three men, including a Penang City Council employee, for investigation into a brawl at an entertainment centre in Jalan Penang here, early today.
Timur Laut district police chief ACP Anuar Omar said the suspects, aged between 27 and 38, were picked up shortly after the incident which occurred about 4.30am, to facilitate investigation under Section 148 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
