Get your hair trimmed by Ultraman

A BARBERSHOP in Penang has found a cool way to give children a haircut without having them bursting into tears. One of its barbers dresses up as Japanese superhero Ultraman for the task.
However, its is not just children who are happy to have Ultraman trim their hair. Adults have also taken a liking to the monster-fighting hero.
Nor Fadzly Hamizam of the Boogie Woogie Barbershop in Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, came up with the idea to help keep his young customers stay calm.
"Normally, children get really uncomfortable when it comes to haircuts. Some even cried so much that their parents have to console them," the 32-year-old barber told a news portal.
"Hence, we decided to use child-friendly approaches to make our young customers comfortable."
He has been operating the barber shop with his partner, Muhammad Nawawi Abdullah, for more than a year. Besides Ultraman, the Boogie Woogie Barbershop aims to have more costumes, including those of Ironman, Spiderman, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty and Star Wars characters.
"Four of us will take turns to wear the costume. Unfortunately, we can't provide early bookings to choose specific costumes. Everything is done walk-in to ensure smooth operation of the shop. There are no special charges for the appearances of these characters" Nor Fadzly said.
The charges for the haircuts will remain at RM20 for adults and RM15 for children.
