Indonesian foreign tourist arrivals grow nearly 26% in first 8 months

JAKARTA: The number of foreign holidaymakers visiting Indonesia from January to August expanded 25.68% to 9.25 million people in a year, national statistics bureau announced here on Monday, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
In August, the number of foreign visitor in Indonesia expanded 36.11% to 1.4 million people, head of the bureau Kecuk Suhariyanto said.
China, followed by Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan contributed the most to Indonesian foreign tourist arrival in August, with contribution respectively 15.83%, 8.06%, 8.75%, 8.71% and 4.9%, Suhariyanto told a press conference at the bureau headquarters. — Bernama
