Jail, whipping for security guard who robbed cyber cafe

PETALING JAYA: The Sessions Court here today sentenced a school security guard to five years' jail and five strokes of the cane for robbing a cyber cafe and was armed with a machete when committing the offence last year.
Judge Azwarnida Affandi handed down the sentence on Andy Yunus Adam, 35, who pleaded guilty to the charge with committing gang-robbery on one Lem Choon Huat, 55, with another person still at large, when armed with a machete at No 47, Glomac Centro, Jalan Teratai, PJU 6A, Kayu Ara, Damansara, here at 7 am on Oct 26 last year.
Lem, who works at the cyber cafe, was robbed of RM380 in the incident.
Deputy public prosecutor Norazalina Razali prosecuted, while Andy Yunus was unrepresented. — Bernama
