Service fee structure for registered counsellors effective tomorrow

PUTRAJAYA: The fee structure for services rendered by registered counsellors to supervise charges imposed by them for their services would take effect from tomorrow, said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.
She said there were complaints from several parties who had sought the services of counsellors that the charges imposed were unreasonable and were unclear.
In order to look after the interests of both parties, the Board of Counsellors felt that the fee structure should be enforced like the ones stipulated by the Counsellors Regulations (Fee) 2017, she said.
"The fee structure for services rendered are according to the academic qualification of the counsellors concerned with the lowest at RM80 up to a maximum of RM150 per session," she told the media after launching the National Counselling Month 2017, here today.
She said that as of Aug 31 this year, there were 7,397 counsellors registered with the Board of Counsellors. — Bernama
