USIM grabs Islamic Finance and Research award

NILAI: The Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM) of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) received the 'Most Outstanding Islamic Finance and Research' award in conjunction with Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF) 2017 held at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur today.
USIM vice-chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Musa Ahmad said it was a great honour for USIM and FEM to receive such a prestigious award.
"Being the youngest comprehensive Islamic university that is fully-owned and funded by the government, USIM applies a holistic approach to the dissemination of knowledge which integrates the science of Naqli (revealed knowledge) and Aqli (rational knowledge).
"A pioneer and leading faculty in Muamalat (Islamic Commerce) , FEM plays an important role in expanding the university's programme scope towards becoming more dynamic and trustworthy.
"FEM has produced more than 3,000 knowledgeable, skilled and credible graduates who contribute to numerous fields, including the banking industry and Islamic finance," he said in a statement, here today.
He commended FEM personnel for winning the award for the first time and hopes it would inspire the faculty to enhance financial education, Islamic banking and research to resolve critical development issues.
The event organised by CIMB Islamic was launched by Negeri Sembilan Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. — Bernama
