Village gets surprise visit from 100kg reticulated python

KUANTAN: Residents of Kampung Pelindung Pantai here received an unpleasant surprise visit from a 100kg reticulated python today evening.
Kuantan Malaysian Civil Defence Force officer Capt Shaifu Nizam Ab Rahman said the three-metre long reptile was found at 2.34pm by a resident while using a backhoe to clear vacant land in the village.
"The villager notified the authorities of the finding. We took 10 minutes to capture the snake before releasing it into an uninhabited area," he told reporters here today. — Bernama
