Unemployed gets five-month jail for intimidating a man wife a knife

KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man who trespassed into a house and criminally intimidated the house owner using a knife was sentenced to five months' jail by the magistrate's court here today.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som passed the sentenced to Zahril Izwan Mohd Fatdzilah, 32, after the accused pleaded guilty to threatening Mohammed Sofian Ismail, 59, by pointing a knife at the man and uttering the word "Don't come near if you don't want to get hurt" with the intention to cause anxiety and fear.
He committed the offence at a house in Jalan Keramat Hujung, Wangsa Maju near here, at 2.30pm on Sept 19, 2015.
The offence under Section 506 of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail term of seven years or fine, or both.
Zahril Izwan also pleaded guilty to trespassing into Mohammed Sofian's house on the same day and at the same time and place.
For that, he was charged under Section 448 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of three years and fine of RM5,000, or both, upon conviction.
The court sentenced him five months' jail for intimidation and three months' jail for house-trespass, and ordered him to serve the sentences concurrently from the date of his arrest on Oct 3. — Bernama
