Police on hunt for men connected to gold heist

GEORGE TOWN: Penang police are on the lookout for three individuals including a youth with an arm injury to facilitate investigations in connection with a RM1.9 million gold heist.
State CID chief Zainol Samah said the youth in his 20s, injured his arm when he was shot by a security personnel during the Sept 25 incident at Jalan Siram in Butterworth.
He said the youth fled the scene with two armed accomplices.
Zainol said the two accomplices have since been nabbed while investigators are searching for the injured man.
He urged clinics and hospitals to be on alert and immediately inform the police if they come across suspicious looking individuals.
Zainol said the other men sought by police, are also believed to be accomplices to the crime.
He said 11 suspects aged between 25 and 45 were detained in a series of operations in Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor in connection with the case.
He said some of the stolen items were also recovered, including cash of RM5,000.
